Features: The content of this book mainly focuses on the front-end design of digital chips, without involving analog or mixed-signal circuit design. The front-end refers to the content before physical design (layout and routing). The book first introduces some background knowledge related to chip design. Then, it dedicates a chapter to explaining the chip design process and the tools used in each stage. Subsequent chapters gradually introduce the knowledge required for front-end design based on the chip design process. Among them, Chapter 3 is on architecture design, which provides a detailed introduction to the tasks of architecture design, some considerations, and methods for architecture design. Chapter 4 is on RTL Design and Simulation. It first introduces some RTL design rules; then, it discusses how to consider synthesis and back-end design issues in RTL design; subsequently, it provides some common design examples and code; and finally, it introduces the relevant knowledge of simulation. Chapter 5 is on Logic Synthesis and Related Technologies. It mainly introduces the functions and basic usage methods of synthesis tools, including basic synthesis and optimization methods, as well as static timing analysis and formal verification technologies closely related to synthesis. The final chapter introduces chip design project management. This book is suitable for engineers, researchers, and students in the fields of communication technology, electronics, and microelectronics who are engaged in digital integrated circuit design and system design.
