Can a shot injure the sciatic nerve and can it still be treated?

Patient's question:

Now the left foot and left leg cannot jump, and they are thinner than the right leg. Can it still be treated? I hope the doctor can explain this to me.

Doctor's answer:

After sciatic nerve injury, all muscles in the posterior thigh, as well as those in the lower leg and foot, are paralyzed, leading to inability to flex the knee joint, complete loss of ankle and toe movement function, presenting as foot drop. There is loss of sensation in the lateral posterior lower leg and foot, and neurotrophic changes appear in the foot. Injection injury to the sciatic nerve causes severe limb pain, radiating downward along the sciatic nerve from the injection site. Paralysis and foot drop in the affected limb typically occur immediately or within a day, rather than developing after 3 or 4 days.
