Is it normal for both eyes to have double eyelids after a child has a fever?

Patient's question:

My son is now one and a half years old. One night after he had a fever, the next day, a fold resembling an eye crease appeared under one of his eyes.

Doctor's answer:

This is just a normal physiological change. When bacteria develop in a child's body, tissues such as blood vessels will be compressed, expanded, or contracted. Eyelids are very thin, so the changes are more noticeable. Additionally, children who sleep for too long or too short periods are more prone to eyelid changes. This is only temporary. We should control our sleep time daily, not making it too long or too short. At a certain age, the changes before eyelid disorders disappear, and only sleep time can affect them.
