The principle is one poem with one commentary article, but some works are discussed together. This book uses simplified characters, and traditional characters or variant characters are used when ambiguity may arise. Difficult or ambiguous phrases in poems are generally explained in the commentary articles, with occasional annotations at the end. Historical dates related to ancient history are generally presented in the old calendar system with corresponding Gregorian dates. The Gregorian dates in parentheses usually omit the word "year."
