Features: This volume includes Hu Shi's Collected Works, Volume IV, The Human Rights Collection, and Random Notes on a South China Tour. Hu Shi's Collected Works, Volume IV was originally titled Recent Works on Learning by Hu Shi, published by the Shanghai Commercial Press in December 1935 in both paperback and hardcover, in quarto format. A second edition was released in 1936. The articles included in Recent Works on Learning by Hu Shi, except for a few that had not been published before, were mostly already published in newspapers and magazines or included as prefaces and postfaces in previously published books, with the majority of the content dating from 1930 to 1935. In December 1953, the Far East Book Company in Taipei published a combined edition of Hu Shi's Collected Works, Volume IV, renaming Recent Works on Learning by Hu Shi as Hu Shi's Collected Works, Volume IV, and removing the appendix of Where Shall We Go? and the preface to The Human Rights Collection. In July 1986, the Yuanliu Publishing Company in Taipei published The Collected Works of Hu Shi, where volumes 15 to 18 included Hu Shi's Collected Works, Volume IV, with some articles supplemented with comments and annotations added by Hu Shi in his later years.
