What should I do if my child often cries?

Patient's question:

The child has just been born for over 40 days, and there has been a tumor on the neck. It sheds tears every four or five days. What could be the reason for this!

Doctor's answer:

Congenital lacrimal punctum and lacrimal canal atresia or no lacrimal punctum and lacrimal canal. This is a relatively rare congenital abnormality of lacrimal duct development, but the lacrimal symptoms are more severe, and the child continues to tear after birth, but generally does not suffer from bacterial infections, so there is no pus. Careful parents can find a healthy eye. At the junction of the skin and red mucous membrane about 3mm away from the outer corner of the eye, there are small protrusions on the upper and lower eyelids, with a small hole in the center of each protrusion, which is a lacrimal punctum. Children with this eye disease do not have these two small holes, or they have not opened. This patient needs surgery to solve the problem of tearing.
