Features: Since its publication, "The Green Channel" has been reprinted multiple times to meet the needs of English learners and users. Designed and written for adult English learners, "The Green Channel" can be used in formal classroom teaching or for self-study. It is particularly suitable for candidates preparing for the English Oral Proficiency Examination (GESE) jointly launched by Trinity College London and Beijing Education Examination and Research Institute. Following the instructions for using "The Green Channel," there is an official letter of recognition from Trinity College London, acknowledging that "The Green Channel" is one of the reference textbooks for the GESE examination. GESE is a distinctive oral proficiency examination with high reliability and validity, and thus an increasing number of English learners are participating in it. Among the candidates, a significant proportion are primary and secondary school students. These candidates come from full-time public and private foreign language training schools in Beijing. Many schools and parents have requested a set of oral textbooks more suitable for children's learning and exam preparation. Additionally, in the past few years, through our English oral training and pre-examination tutoring for primary and secondary school students, we have gained some methods and experiences. Given these requirements and our teaching experience, we decided to compile "The Green Channel." The three volumes of "The Green Channel" are roughly equivalent to the requirements of GESE Oral Proficiency Examination levels 1-10. The newly compiled children's edition follows the preparatory level of the GESE examination syllabus, incorporating the core content of the first and the first half of the second volume of the original textbook, and is divided into four volumes to suit children's English learning. "The Green Channel" can also serve as a guidebook for primary and junior high school students participating in the GHESE levels 1-4 oral proficiency examination, ensuring consistency in content and requirements between the original and the children's edition. To provide users and parents of children learning English with a more comprehensive understanding of "The Green Channel," we have also included the official letter of recognition from Trinity College London in this book. In the compilation of "The Green Channel," we have fully taken into account the psychological characteristics of children learning English and their current language learning and expression abilities. Referencing the objectives for listening and speaking skills at levels 1-5 in the "English Curriculum Standards for Full-Time Compulsory Education" issued by the Ministry of Education, combined with the GESE examination syllabus, we have considered and designed aspects such as the format, picture design, teaching methods, and learning load per lesson, striving to make English learning enjoyable and rewarding for children, reflecting the teaching philosophy of "learning through play" and "teaching in accordance with local conditions." The entire textbook features practical language, innovative structure, vivid illustrations, and a strong sense of fun. Its content is close to the daily lives of primary and secondary school students, making it easy to learn and remember, and highly adaptable to real-life situations, providing significant help in improving children's oral proficiency.
