Each unit is divided into three parts. Part 1 is to be handled in class, and students are not required to preview the vocabulary. The vocabulary test in Part 1 consists of words selected from Section A of the text, mostly potentially confusing words or important common words that may hinder comprehension. The texts are arranged in order of difficulty, progressing from simple to complex. The reading methods are introduced step by step, systematically covering various reading skills. Vocabulary exercises in Part 1 systematically introduce common word formation rules, while Part 2 focuses on word form changes. Cloze tests primarily assess students' reading comprehension skills and help cultivate their sense of language. Supplementary vocabulary lists include words related to the topics, aiming to expand students' vocabulary. Part 2 features texts longer than Part 1, providing in-depth or supplementary content on related topics for students to read outside class. Teachers can check these texts in class or provide appropriate explanations based on the content. Part 3 includes three to four short passages on related topics, primarily used for fast-reading training. At the end of each unit, there are two discussion questions for students to discuss in class or outside class.
