Thanks to the joint efforts of the Foreign Language Editing Office of East China Normal University Press, audio-visual production, and related design and art editing personnel, "Listening Comprehension 2000" presents a fresh appearance, layout, images, color scheme, and recordings. This book is the third volume, containing twelve units. The chapter structure and objectives of each unit are largely consistent with the first two volumes. However, the selection of content follows different priorities: the first volume focuses on outlining macro-level changes and era-specific characteristics in contemporary society, emphasizing a broad perspective and large-scale themes; the second volume primarily revolves around the healthy growth of students in terms of their studies, emotional well-being, and physical fitness, with a focus on the student as the subject and topics closely related to daily life, making them easily relatable and thought-provoking; while the third volume guides students' attention toward the world, including up-to-date reports and achievements in areas such as international politics, economy, science and technology, and transportation, helping them expand their knowledge and broaden their horizons.
