Features: This book is divided into five parts. Parts and Part V contain twelve sets of simulated writing tests, with six sets classified as Type A and six as Type G. The purpose of these two parts is to help candidates understand the format and general content of the tests, while also allowing them to conduct a self-assessment at the beginning of using this textbook to identify their strengths and weaknesses, so that they can improve and correct them in later studies. It also enables candidates to evaluate their progress upon completing the textbook. Part II consists of language diagnostic tests, including three sets of tests on spelling, grammar, and sentence structure. Part III focuses on common writing techniques, teaching seven frequently appearing writing techniques in the IELTS exam: narrative writing, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, description, argumentative writing, report writing, and letter writing. Part IV covers test-taking skills, divided into six lessons: understanding the question, outlining, writing the introduction, writing the body, writing the conclusion, and reviewing the writing. After Part V, there are answers and model essays for some exercises. Most of the writing tasks in the simulated tests provide two to three model essays to demonstrate how the same topic can be written from different perspectives.
