Features: This book is divided into three main parts. The first part, titled "Know Thyself and Know the Enemy," aims to introduce the requirements and key testing points of the writing section in the teaching syllabus and examination syllabus. Through a comparison between the new syllabus and the old syllabus, as well as between the Postgraduate English Test (TEM-8) and the Postgraduate English Test (TEM-4), it helps a broad readership gain a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the writing section of the new TEM-8 exam in both horizontal and vertical perspectives. Additionally, to help readers fully grasp the writing scoring criteria, we have dedicated a section to explaining the scoring rubrics, providing two years of scoring sample papers for illustration.
The second part, titled "Conquer One by One," follows the new writing theory and divides the real writing process into three stages, focusing on introducing strategies for each stage. This part is the highlight of the book. As long as readers can grasp the essence of each stage, they will be able to handle all stages of the TEM-8 writing exam with ease.
The third part, titled "Apply What You Learn," primarily provides two different types of practice exercises. The first type offers 10 articles with various issues for readers to study and improve, accompanied by brief comments. The second type provides 30 writing exercises for practical application, covering the common topics and requirements of the TEM-8 writing section. To the greatest extent possible, we have provided key point hints for each exercise. Additionally, we have specially marked common phrases and sentence structures that are helpful for writing, making it convenient for readers to memorize these useful language tools.
