Publish Date: 2000-11-01
Features: This book is based on the vocabulary lists for the "Higher Requirements" and "Higher and Higher Requirements" sections of the General College English Curriculum Requirements (Trial), published in June 2004. The book is divided into four parts: "Key Vocabulary Explanations and Distinctions," "Key Phrases Explanations and Distinctions," "Key Vocabulary Tests," and "Key Phrase Tests." The main features of the book are as follows:
1. The selected vocabulary strictly adheres to the new curriculum requirements, with a clear focus on key and difficult points. Readers can avoid aimless learning while achieving efficient and effective results.
2. Emphasis on practicality and strong targeting. The explanations of entries and the selection of examples in the book are concise and standardized, with a focus on key points. Special attention is given to the various collocations of words, sentence structures, and contexts, allowing readers to learn the meaning and usage of each word through examples.
3. Follows the learning patterns of language, combining theory with practice. The book is divided into 18 units in alphabetical order, each accompanied by approximately 30 vocabulary exercises and 30 phrase exercises. The exercises include all the authentic questions from the past decade's CET-4 vocabulary and phrase sections, as well as carefully selected important vocabulary and phrase tests. This enables readers to learn and train in stages while grasping some characteristics and key points of exam questions, giving them a clear understanding.
This book is suitable for those preparing for the College English Test Band 6 (CET-6) and candidates for postgraduate studies. It can also serve as a reference for teachers. Additionally, it is an important reference book for adult education and self-study exam takers learning vocabulary.
