Features: This book analyzes, summarizes, and organizes selected typical questions from the English Professional Level 4 (TEM-4) exam over the past decade, aiming to cover all key points from previous exams. Based on this, it identifies the hotspots and difficulties of each section and provides extensive simulated exercises and answer explanations. The purpose is to help English major undergraduate students master their English knowledge comprehensively.
Book Content:
1. Macro Interpretation of the Exam: This section includes an analysis of the TEM-4 exam syllabus, providing candidates with guidance on the scope, principles, and format of the exam, as well as scoring standards. The goal is to enable candidates to "know their enemy" and grasp one of the conditions for "fighting without perishing."
2. Macro-Specific Guidance:
A. Sentence Selection and Construction: To address language issues in students' writing, we have designed "Matching Sentences" and "Writing Good Sentences" exercises in Chapter 6. Through error correction exercises, readers can increase their sensitivity to common language errors while also learning the skill of "revising articles." In the "Writing Good Sentences" section, we introduce 15 types of sentence patterns—from "introducing problems" and "bridging context" to "congratulations" and "complaints"—along with over a hundred excellent sentences.
B. Paragraph Planning: Starting from the specific requirements of TEM-4 writing, this book analyzes the characteristics of English paragraphs in Chapter 3, offering tricks and strategies for developing paragraphs. Chapters 4 and 5 provide reference models and suggestions for the genres of TEM-4 essay writing and note-taking.
C. Broadening Thinking: "Not knowing what to say" is a common dilemma for candidates. To address this, the book offers categorized topic-based examples and language highlights in Chapter 7, providing imitation models. The selection of model texts in the book aims to balance thematic diversity and realism. This approach helps candidates generalize, accumulate material, and expand their writing ideas from multiple perspectives.
