Features: Newly Compiled College German is developed based on the Teaching Syllabus for College German (Second Edition). This textbook is designed for undergraduate students in science, engineering, liberal arts, and management (non-German major) at higher education institutions, as well as for use as a foundational textbook in German language training programs. With the higher requirements for university foreign language teaching in the new century, this textbook emphasizes the cultivation of students' practical language application skills, particularly communicative competence, based on the provisions and quantitative indicators of the new syllabus. Newly Compiled College German consists of four volumes, each accompanied by a student textbook and a teacher textbook. Main texts, listening comprehension, and unit vocabulary are supported by audio cassettes. Since the development of language skills is inseparable and mutually reinforcing, and language skills also require integrated application in real-world contexts. In comparison, Volume 1 focuses more on listening and speaking training and oral communicative activities, while also covering basic grammar. Volumes 2, 3, and 4 continue to strengthen listening and speaking training while gradually increasing reading volume to further enhance comprehensive language application skills such as reading, translation, and writing. Volume 3 consists of ten units, each comprising an introduction, main text, exercises, practical application, listening, reading, grammar summary, and unit vocabulary. Each unit spans approximately six hours, with the remaining time available for review and exams, or can be adjusted according to specific teaching needs. For ease of instruction, the following specific features of Newly Compiled College German (Volume 3) are outlined:
1. Under the principle of each unit focusing on a theme, the best language samples related to German-speaking countries and social life are selected. The texts are fresh, diverse in, varied in style, practical, and rich in contemporary relevance.
2. To help students move beyond rote memorization and improve language application skills in a relaxed and enjoyable manner, various communicative exercises are designed to be context-based, concise, and easy to practice. These exercises enable students to naturally absorb and apply learned language knowledge through repeated practice within a given context, fostering learning through communication and communication through learning, thereby enhancing learning efficiency.

This integrates traditional language teaching with modern multimedia methods.
9. Each unit vocabulary list includes example sentences for every word, helping students better understand word meanings and master word usage through context.
