Features: The "New Spanish Reading Textbook" is divided into four volumes and is suitable for undergraduate students in their first, second, and third years of Spanish at higher education institutions. This series of textbooks was recompiled based on the selection experience of the original "Spanish Reading Textbook" (co-edited by Cen Chulan, Chen Wangxuan, and Fu Xiaofang, published by FLTRP in 1988) and feedback from some teachers and students. It basically retains the format of the original textbook but features entirely new texts. The main purpose of this book is to improve reading comprehension skills, expand vocabulary, and broaden knowledge, while adhering to teaching principles such as scientific learning, knowledge-based, practicality, and. It strives to diversify the themes and genres of the texts. The main content includes simple stories, short dialogues, adaptations of literary masterpieces, plays, novels, biographies of famous figures, overviews of Spanish-speaking countries, short business and economic articles, and contemporary social issues, all designed to meet the needs of the modern era. Each article is accompanied by a vocabulary list to facilitate students' reading and understanding. Volumes 1 and 2 were selected and compiled by Cen Chulan and Cai Shaolong, while Volumes 3 and 4 were compiled by Li Duo. The entire series was reviewed by Professor Liu Yongxin, Head of the Spanish Department at Beijing Foreign Studies University. We sincerely hope readers will provide valuable feedback on this book.
