Features: The supplement to the Longman Contemporary Dictionary is an excellent introductory textbook for learning and studying new English words. The supplement forms a complete unit, facilitating focused learning and research. At the beginning of the supplement, there is an introduction written by Jean Aitchison, discussing the emergence and formation of new English words, which is highly informative and serves as a guide for studying new words. In summary, learning and studying new English words offers great benefits and is also highly engaging. To conclude my introduction to the supplement to the Longman Contemporary Dictionary, I would like to borrow the remarks of Eric Partridge, a British linguist and lexicographer, from the 1960s, who reviewed a new words dictionary at the time: Any dictionary of new... words is worthy of respect and attention. This particular dictionary is worthy of more. It should be used, consulted, read. (Any dictionary of new words is worthy of respect and attention. This particular dictionary is worthy of even more. It should be used, consulted, and read.)
