FLTRP and Hunan Children's Publishing House have jointly introduced this series of textbooks, based on the understanding that maintaining students' strong interest in English during the primary school stage is more important than teaching them hundreds of words. This textbook is divided into 6 levels, with each level consisting of two books (A and B). For this introduction, we first bring in the student books for levels 1–3, along with (audio cassettes), family activities, and test papers. Each level includes one listening textbook and its (audio cassettes), along with (teacher's book). It is suitable for 4th grade in a six-year primary school system or 3rd grade in a five-year primary school system. Each unit of the textbook mainly includes the following content:
- Talking about the picture (): Previews new words that appear in Fun reading.
- Learn these sentences (): Presents the main grammatical points of the unit.
- Fun reading (): Repeats learned words and grammar structures in an interesting context. At the same time, it guides students to develop the habit of reading English through familiar comic strips, which is a stage for improving reading skills and laying a foundation for future learning.
- Dialogues (): Allows students to practice communicative dialogues, achieving the purpose of communication by providing answers to simple personal information.
- Rhymes (): Fully reflects the edutainment () feature of this series of textbooks.
- Finish the sentences (): Asks students to write the missing words to complete the sentences.
- Tasks (): Encourages students to practice exercises based on the language they have already learned, without requiring additional preparation.
