Before the main content of the Main Textbook begins, you will meet some of the key characters in the story. By the end of the course, you may be able to decide which character you like the most. When studying each unit, we recommend starting with the Main Textbook. First, look at the summary of the unit’s storyline, familiarize yourself with the key vocabulary in Word Check and the expressions in Language Summary. Then, watch the television program or videotape to understand the content and language of the unit. If you encounter anything you don’t understand, don’t hurry. The exercises in the Main Textbook and Study Guide will help you grasp the story’s content. After watching the videotape, do the exercises in the Main Textbook first, and then the vocabulary and sentence structure exercises in the Study Guide. Once you finish the exercises, watch the videotape again, and you’ll find you can understand more. The Main Textbook also includes:
ANSWER KEY – This provides the answers to the exercises for you to check your work.
VIDEOSCRIPT – This contains all the dialogue from the videotape for reference during your study and practice.
