First, the book categorizes and arranges common Japanese idiomatic expressions based on elements such as "human body parts," "animals," "plants and vegetables," "astronomy and geography," "colors," "seasons and weather," "directions and numbers," "clothing and food," and "others." It includes over 3,800 Japanese idiomatic expressions. Each category is arranged in the order of the Japanese "Gojūon" (fifty-sound kana) phonetic sequence. Relevant vocabulary elements for each idiomatic expression are accompanied by on-yomi (phonetic reading), kun-yomi (semantic reading), and definitions.
Not only are the listed idiomatic expressions provided with Japanese-Chinese explanations and example sentences for illustration, but the example sentences are also translated into Chinese to facilitate better understanding and mastery by users. Additionally, to assist more beginners in learning and mastering more vocabulary while enhancing their interest in learning, the pronunciation of Chinese characters appearing in the sentences is annotated.
Second, the categories in the table of contents first appear in Japanese Kanji, followed by Chinese definitions, with parentheses used for distinction. The dominant words in each category are common Japanese Kanji, annotated with their pronunciation in parentheses. Below, the entries are arranged in the order of the first kana of the headword according to the Japanese "Gojūon" system, allowing users to easily locate them.
