80 Days to Conquer IELTS _ Core Vocabulary

Features: This book is divided into three parts.
Part 1: The major feature of this part is that the editors connect it to the IELTS exam and explain every word. The distinctive feature here is the examples, as the IELTS exam emphasizes the flexible use of long sentences, but traditional dictionaries often have short and outdated examples, far from meeting IELTS requirements. The editors carefully select novel and flexible long-sentence examples from new overseas newspapers, magazines, and websites. The second major feature of this part is the root analysis of each word. Long words are broken down into shorter ones for memorization, providing students with a golden key to learning the internal structure of words. As the saying goes, "Understanding leads to memorization," and understanding the internal structure of words is another purpose of this part.
Part 2: Days 66 to 70 cover more challenging advanced vocabulary, with over 1,000 words, divided into 5 days of memorization. This part primarily serves the IELTS reading section and can also expand students' vocabulary.
Part 3: Based on the content commonly involved in the IELTS exam, the editors have created 10 thematic units, divided into 10 days of memorization (Days 71 to 80). Each unit provides 100 to 200 commonly used words. The goal is to familiarize students with these themes and expand their vocabulary in the last 10 days before the IELTS exam.
The guiding philosophy of this book is to first build strength before discussing techniques. The reading materials in this book are authoritative, mostly sourced from articles in major British and American mainstream media. The questions are carefully selected and refined based on past IELTS exam topics. The skill training after 60 days in this book is entirely built on the solid foundation laid in the first 60 days. When it comes to summarizing techniques, this book can be said to be the most detailed and persuasive to date. Moreover, when arranging the questions, the book fully considers the learners' ability to receive information, adopting a step-by-step and integrated approach of theory and practice, which is more conducive to absorption and digestion.
