Features: In terms of the structural composition of Chinese characters, except for a small number of monosyllabic characters, the vast majority are compound characters. Among these compound characters, over 80% are phono-semantic compounds. It is well-known that the basic units forming compound characters are radical characters, also known as components. Years of teaching calligraphy have proven that to write a compound character well, the first priority is to ensure that the radical character is well-written, and then arrange the structure reasonably. Only in this way can the character be written correctly and aesthetically. For this purpose, our publishing house has invited the calligrapher Gu Zhong'an to write this "500 Common Radical Characters in Four Styles of Calligraphy," with the aim of helping readers master the writing of various radical characters and ultimately write well. The so-called "four styles" refer to regular script, running script, cursive script, and clerical script, all of which are fonts that readers love and are highly practical. This book includes 502 radical characters, which can be divided into four types. The first type of radical character is not a character itself but a fixed symbol composed of strokes, generally used at the beginning or end of a word.
