5th Crazy Memorization: "Sentence—Word—Association Word" Full Coverage, Returning with Full Rewards.
To complement the "crazy memorization" plan, the book is meticulously designed in the following aspects:
1. Unique Arrangement of Sentences Leading to Words. One of the characteristics of first language acquisition is that vocabulary is not isolated, "naked" or "dead" words, but embedded in living, contextual sentences. We break away from the monotonous and tedious arrangement of vocabulary manuals and reference books that typically present words first and sentences later. Instead, we present a complete sentence to the reader before providing the conventional information about the word.
2. Association Memory with Words Leading to Words. Inspired by the world's first associative generation expression dictionary, the "Langenscheidt English Associative Activity Dictionary," we introduce readers to a fresh and innovative "associated word" concept, covering synonyms, antonyms, homophones, visually similar words, and root words, etc. This approach broadens readers' horizons, encourages them to think by analogy, and facilitates serial memory.
3. Authoritative Authentic Exam Examples. Copying examples from dictionaries is a common shortcut for compilers. We leverage a powerful CET-6 exam corpus to ensure the authority of the source. Most examples are extracted from authentic CET-6 exams over the past decade, with a significant portion originating from listening, Cloze, and Compound Dictation sections of similar vocabulary manuals. To better compare the differences between synonymous expressions in English-Chinese bilingual contexts and help readers better understand and memorize vocabulary, we also provide Chinese translations for the examples. Both the English original and Chinese translations are color-printed for high visibility.
4. 30-Day Battle-Critical Memorization. We have divided all CET-6 vocabulary into 30 sections to help readers achieve remarkable results within about 30 days. Scientific research shows that a word needs to be memorized five times to become a long-term memory. Therefore, we recommend that readers thoroughly review the entire book five times within 30 days. During the first review, the accuracy rate can reach 20%, and it will gradually increase with each subsequent review. By the fifth review, the accuracy rate should exceed 80%.
