English conversation is very effortless and natural, just like how we speak Chinese in daily life. Words are the basic units that form sentences. To express or speak, basic words are an indispensable tool. This book designs eight situational contexts based on different fields: Relationship (I), Relationship (II), School, Work (I), Work (II), Service, Leisure and Recreation, Travel. Each context includes five units with different themes to help readers learn basic words and respond naturally in various situations. The content of each unit is as follows:
Dialogue
Each unit provides two dialogue examples, allowing readers to learn basic word usage based on these examples, avoiding the common problem of only memorizing words without knowing how to use them. With contextual coherence, readers can better understand the meaning of words and avoid using the wrong word or failing to express themselves clearly.
Vocabulary
The vocabulary section provides ten words used in the unit dialogues, forming the core part of the vocabulary.
Exercises
Each unit includes five fill-in-the-blank exercises, where readers can choose the appropriate word from seven options based on the context of the passage.
Index
The index is appended at the end of the book, listing all the main words introduced in the book and additional supplementary words for reference.
