It is structured into levels, ranging from 1a, 1b to 6a, 6b, comprising a total of 6 levels and 12 volumes. The starting levels are 1a and 1b. The first four levels (1a-4b) of this textbook fulfill the basic requirements for English learning in the primary school stage as stipulated by the National English Curriculum Standards issued by the Ministry of Education. The fifth and sixth levels (5a-6b) serve as further consolidation and expansion of primary school English. Students who complete the fourth and sixth levels will have a vocabulary of over 900 and 1,200 words, respectively, and will achieve significant breakthroughs in listening and speaking skills. This textbook strives to embody new educational philosophies, perspectives on language, and views on foreign language learning. It focuses on developing practical language skills, emphasizes the communicative function and tool-like characteristics of language, and aims to cultivate students' ability to communicate in English as the ultimate goal, while also paying attention to fostering learning interest. The teaching content is designed to progress from simple to complex, in a step-by-step manner, with clear emphasis on key points and the gradual introduction of difficulties. New vocabulary is distributed appropriately, with reasonable repetition, and sentence patterns and textual materials are selected and arranged based on students' physical, mental characteristics, cognitive levels, and language proficiency. The textbook system also emphasizes rigorous training in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as the comprehensive development of language skills.
