This workbook is a companion to 21st Century College English: Reading and Writing Course, designed for students taking college English courses. It contains ten units. Each unit consists of three parts: Part 1 is supplementary exercises for the texta in 21st Century College English: Reading and Writing Course, Part 2 is supplementary exercises for the textb, and Part 3 is quick reading training. Part 1 includes the following eight types of exercises: 1. Spelling and Word Meaning; 2. Word Formation; 3. Usage of Prepositions and Adverbs; 4. Phrasal Verbs; 5. Error Correction; 6. Confusable Words; 7. Translation of Phrases and Groups; 8. Cloze. Part 2 is similar to Part 1, but the Spelling and Word Meaning exercises in Part 2 are replaced with vocabulary cloze exercises. Part 3 includes three short passages of about 300 words each, with five multiple-choice reading comprehension questions following each passage.
