Features: One of the more meaningful articles in this issue of "Old Photos" is Chen Baida's, the great-grandson of Chen Brei, recalling his family history. Starting from the rise and fall of the Yuan family in the male line, it discusses the marriage between Yuan Yongxi and Chen Lian, his grandmother's passing, the hardships and separations his parents endured after the liberation, and finally tells the stories of the survivors at the end of the turmoil. The article, spanning tens of thousands of words, weaves emotion into rational words, narrating the not-so-ordinary life of these individuals in a graceful manner. Additionally, several short pieces recalling old friends and introducing old military uniforms are also worth reading.
