Features: This is a book from many years ago that has faced a lot of criticism, but it has always been one of my favorite books. How can a good author change their mind because of criticism? Records can be selected, and so can words. Of course, the difference is that my three books might be able to select one, while other authors might not find one in thirty. I really love the language passages in this book. Sometimes I am amazed by myself, thinking, "How could I write so well?" I doubt I could even come up with such ideas now—even this thought persists as I reread my previous book. Three Doors to the Gate and Racing with Youth are all works I've gone through. Later, I found books I liked, such as Chang'an Chaos and A City of Walls. Some people ask me, "What do you think are the flaws in your writing?" I say, "I don't think I have any." Because all great authors are smart. If there are obvious shortcomings, smart people will naturally notice them, and if they are not satisfied with themselves, they will naturally revise. We cannot call style a flaw. Correcting every so-called flaw would bury all the strengths.
