Features: This is an autobiography of Tom #8226; Frank, the former Central Command commander of the U.S. Central Command and a four-star general. As a career military officer, he personally experienced the Vietnam War in the 1960s, Operation Desert Storm in the early 1990s, the Afghanistan War following the "9.11" attacks, and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. On a certain day in October 1967, his father, a World War II veteran, bid farewell to Lieutenant Frank as he was about to deploy to Vietnam, saying, "Be a good shot, son." Twenty-three years later, as the commander of U.S. Central Command, General Frank personally planned, organized, and led two 21st-century wars led by the U.S., creatively implementing the concept of new-style cooperative warfare and executing precise strikes that targeted the heart without damaging other parts of the body. His actions left classic examples in modern military history. As a son, husband, and father, Frank also shares many heartfelt descriptions in the book. The interweaving of military life and daily scenes makes the character vivid and relatable. The author's writing is witty, humorous, and grand, and it also reveals many behind-the-scenes decisions made by high-ranking military officials. As the highest military leader, the battlefield perspective observed through high-tech screens is far more realistic and thrilling than in Hollywood blockbusters—General Frank shows us all of this.
