Series of Eastern Thought and Wisdom · The Wise Laozi

Features: The book Laozi is profound in meaning and thought, and can be interpreted in various ways—sometimes seen as the words of Yin-Yang strategy, or as a basis for health preservation and cultivation. If viewed from a logical perspective to form a philosophical system, it is particularly coherent and extraordinary in its depth. However, these are all interpretations added by later generations, and may not reflect the true essence of Laozi. From a common sense perspective, the book is likely the reflections of a highly wise philosopher (let us tentatively assume it to be "one person") who has quietly observed the changes in the world, endured countless hardships, and then expressed their insights. The words were passed on unintentionally, not as a deliberate effort to write a book. Therefore, though its insights are brilliant and profound, they stem from intuitive experience rather than rational deduction. When discussing matters and evaluating things, it simply reflects these insights as they arise, without considering the relationships between different things, nor intentionally constructing a system of external objects, like Hegel did. In terms of not being organized through reasoning, there are inconsistencies and some points that are difficult to fully explain. However, in terms of genuine experience, it is deeply perceptive and illuminating, enough to guide people to practice and benefit immensely. This is why it has been passed down through the ages with such profound influence, far beyond what ordinary philosophical theories can achieve. Without this understanding, it would be mere empty talk—like buying a box to return the pearl, losing the true meaning of reading Laozi. Therefore, this book does not attempt to create philosophical sculptures but speaks from common sense and common experience, aiming to explain the true impact of Laozi on later generations. If the essence of Laozi can be clarified through this, and if people can benefit from its teachings, that would be the author's greatest happiness.
