Features: The book on wooden doors consists of two volumes. This is the first volume, which includes 20 chapters and primarily provides information and scientific applications related to the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) product. It introduces the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) and the NPOESS Preparatory Project (NPP), and also explores other satellite remote sensing equipment and applications. Content on data formats, data processing, data querying, and ordering is provided in the second volume. This volume discusses the Earth Observing System (EOS), the primary satellite system used by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) for monitoring and detecting Earth changes. EOS includes satellites such as Terra, Aqua, and Aura, equipped with remote sensing instruments like MODIS, AIRS, AMSU, AMSR-E, and OMI. It also discusses the four key NPOESS system components that NPP will carry: the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS), the Cross-track Infrared Sounder (CrIS), the Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS), and the Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite (OMPS), which can be used to study Earth's climate and weather changes. The authors of this book are authoritative experts and scholars in relevant fields. The content covers both the fundamental knowledge of modern remote sensing technology and the cutting-edge areas of satellite remote sensing, making it highly practical and suitable as a reference book for professionals in fields such as remote sensing, geology, environment, and space information.
