It then takes historical events of the 20th century as case studies to further analyze the manifestations, goals, essence, and lessons of modernity theory. Modern philosophy has recognized the various crises of modernity, but it seems to have only (stopped at symptom diagnosis) without the ability to prescribe effective remedies—moreover, it has even exacerbated the crises of modernity. Heidegger thus (paved a different path), attempting to rescue the decline of the spiritual realm with poetic thinking, but the results were still far from ideal. However, the path he pioneered has pointed toward a possible direction for resolving the crisis of modernity: a return to the "classical." Strauss, with his unique hermeneutical method, promotes classical political philosophy, which may provide beneficial nourishment for the modern fate of the entire Western intellectual tradition.
