What method is best for treating the prostate?

Patient's question:

I previously had prostatitis, and after treatment by the doctor, it hasn't flared up anymore. I feel like it's already cured, but recently, for some reason, it seems to have recurred again. I don't even know how it came back.

Doctor's answer:

Patients with prostatitis often experience recurring symptoms after recovery, which can cause significant distress. Therefore, in daily life, patients with prostatitis should also take certain treatment measures. Generally speaking, in their daily routine, patients with prostatitis should adopt the following treatment measures:
1. Patients with prostatitis should reduce prolonged sitting time and place softer cushions on their seats to alleviate local pressure.
2. Patients with prostatitis should drink plenty of water, consuming at least 3 liters daily; they should also have 1–2 orgasms per week to promote the excretion of prostatic fluid.
3. Electrical therapy in the perineum, hot Sitz baths, and acupuncture or Qigong treatments can be effective for this condition. Among these, hot Sitz baths should be performed with water temperatures controlled between 42–45°C, lasting about 15 minutes each time.
4. Persistent Kegel exercises, involving repeated contraction and lifting of the pelvic floor muscles, followed by relaxation of the anus and testicles, can improve local blood circulation. Alternatively, the pelvic floor muscle training method can be used: Insert a finger into the patient's rectum and instruct them to gently and smoothly use the defecation reflex to push the finger out without applying abdominal pressure, while relaxing the pelvic muscles, achieving the effect of both contracting and relaxing the pelvic muscles.
