Patient's question:
Hello, I recently found out during my physical examination that I have prostate stones. Where should I go for treatment? Which hospitals are good for treating this condition? Please let me know, thank you.Doctor's answer:
The formation of prostate stones is due to chronic inflammation in the prostate glandular acini and excretory ducts, which causes acinar dilation and duct narrowing. When urine refluxes, some salts precipitate on the normal prostate glandular tissue, forming prostate stones. Another theory suggests that prostate hyperplasia increases intraductal pressure, leading to the accumulation of secretions in the ducts. Under pressure, salt components deposit on the compressed cortical tissue or surgical capsule surrounding the prostate, thus forming prostate stones.Note: Proper dietary adjustment can help prevent the recurrence of stones. Calcium stone patients should reduce their intake of high-calcium foods like milk, while oxalate stone patients should limit spinach, potatoes, beans, and strong tea. Phosphate stone patients should follow a low-phosphate, low-calcium diet and take ammonium chloride orally to acidify the urine. Urate stone patients should reduce their intake of purine-rich foods, such as animal organs.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
