Patient's question:
Recently, my friend went to the hospital because of prostate enlargement and high fever. After the examination, it was found that he had a prostatic cyst.Doctor's answer:
Hello. Prostatitis abscess is a complication of acute prostatitis, urethritis, and epididymitis. Despite antibiotic treatment, persistent or recurrent urinary tract infections and persistent perineal pain suggest the presence of a prostatitis abscess. However, many prostatitis abscesses are discovered incidentally during prostate surgery or endoscopic examinations. The abscess may rupture and be detected when the lateral lobe of the prostate bulges into the urethra or during instrumental examination. Prostate ultrasound may help in diagnosis.
