Publishing Date: 2006-10-01
Features: At a commemorative meeting of Zhonghua Book Company, Deng Xuesan once said that the prosperity of Zhonghua Book Company indicates the prosperity of Chinese culture. Zhonghua Book Company and Chinese culture share the same fate, and this statement holds some truth. The publishing and construction of Chinese culture is a mirror reflecting China's prosperity. China transformed from a poor and backward semi-colonial old China into a new China, and the Chinese people truly stood up. The intellectuals nurtured in the old China were criticized in every "movement" and some suffered unfair treatment, even greater misfortunes, but they bore no resentment. From them, one can see the patriotic spirit and sense of responsibility for the Chinese nation that they possessed after experiencing both the old and new societies.
