This book presents another renowned annotation of the Simplified Catalogue of the Four Treasuries, distinct from those by Shao Yichen and Mo Youzhi. Author Zhu Xueqin was a scholar of the late Qing Dynasty, celebrated for his vast book collection. His annotations, which can be cross-examined with those of Shao and Mo, are highly valuable. The insights of the three scholars complement each other, all contributing to the legacy of the "Four Treasuries Catalogue." The annotations by Shao and Mo have long been published and are widely recognized. However, Zhu’s work was only in manuscript form and was known to very few. The present edition, published by our press, is a photolithographic reproduction based on a manuscript copy from the Guangxu era, the only extant fine copy known to date. In addition to Zhu’s annotations, the book includes collations by Wang Songwei, Weng Jingsun, and others, as well as prefaces and postfaces by modern authorities on textual studies, Gu Tinglong and Huang Yongnian.
