Hello, balanoposthitis is divided into balanitis and posthitis. Because they often occur simultaneously, it is called balanoposthitis of the penis. This inflammation can be infectious or non-infectious, and infectious balanoposthitis is more common in clinical practice. Infectious cases are often caused by unclean sexual contact, such as infection with Candida albicans, Trichomonas, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, or other bacteria. Non-infectious factors are mostly due to excessive prepuce, insufficient hygiene, and the accumulation of unclean substances between the prepuce and glans, known as smegma, which can irritate the local prepuce and mucosa, leading to inflammation.
