Features: Do you think the media is biased? Why do major American TV networks fail to report a major news story during prime time? Why do American media hype the myth of widespread HIV/AIDS transmission among heterosexuals? Why do mainstream American media label some people's passionate speeches as "freedom of speech," while calling others' speeches "inciting terrorism"? How do political correctness in American news organizations override the truth? How are American media elites disconnected from American society? If you have ever suspected that your news has been distorted, Goldberg not only tells you that you are right but also reveals the process of this distortion and the fairness, justice, and honesty that have disappeared from TV news. On September 11, 2001, the American elite, namely the TV news anchors, did well. They acted unusually by giving us fair and balanced reporting. They told us what was happening without any sarcasm or personal opinions. At this point, they deserve our gratitude and respect. However, unbiased reporting should not only be seen when the country faces a disaster. Before September 11, the media elite had performed too unsatisfactorily. And they will continue to do so. After all, that is who they are. This is exactly what this book aims to tell.
