Patient's question:
I recently don't know what's going on, my lower body is very uncomfortable, and I'm not getting morning erections anymore. What's the matter with blood in the semen?Doctor's answer:
Hello, blood in semen indicates hematospermia. It is generally more common in individuals with frequent sexual activity. Most of the semen comes from the seminal vesicles, with a smaller portion originating from the vas deferens. The cause of blood in semen may be due to hyperplasia of the mucous membrane of the seminal vesicles. Other possible causes include inflammation of the seminal vesicles, prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, or urethral trauma. Less common causes include urinary tract tuberculosis, prostatic tumor, seminal vesicle tumor, or congenital anomalies of the ureteral opening. In the urethra, most patients with blood in semen have no symptoms. If accompanied by pain, it is more likely to be due to inflammation.
