After its publication, the complete works had a wide impact. In 1998, it won the First Prize of the Second Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences from the Ministry of Education, and in 1999, it received the First Prize of the National Social Science Fund Project and the Fourth National Book Award.
