Features: The economic development of a region ultimately reflects the development of enterprises within that region, and it is ultimately through the development of enterprises that the local economy can take off. One of the key factors behind the lagging economic development in China's western region is the relatively low overall development level and quality of enterprises in the west. Meanwhile, the prosperity of the eastern region is mainly supported by a large number of successful enterprises. Therefore, while the government's fiscal policies and other macro efforts are undoubtedly important in the economic development of the west, fundamentally speaking, the key lies in establishing the micro-foundations for economic growth in the west and creating effective incentives for micro-economic entities, which are the true drivers of economic development in the west. This book is the final research outcome of the National Social Science Fund of China-supported project, "Research on Enterprise Development in the Context of Western Development—An Empirical Study of the Development of Ya'an Sanjiu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd."
