Features: This issue selects three sets of articles from three issues. Some critiques and reflections on higher education. In recent years, with the development of economic globalization, universities have become increasingly corporate, increasingly integrated with multinational companies, colluding for profit, pushing humanities to the marginal position, threatening free educational ideas, and declining the humanities quality of the nation. The social morality has turned into consumer consciousness, despite the loud calls from many dedicated individuals, this trend continues to develop. The second part interprets works from the perspective of cultural theory. In the second half of the 20th century, literary studies have undergone tremendous development and changes: from the decline of formalism to the rise of structuralism, then from the decline of structuralism to the prevalence of post-structuralism, and then to the resurgence of Marxism and the debates of feminism. Various methods of interpreting literary works have emerged, and unprecedentedly large numbers of new literary research works have been published. The third part is a special issue on Du Bois, selected from Boundaries 2. This section of articles provides a new way of interpreting Du Bois—a re-evaluation of empirical sociology.
