What are the common cases of abnormal fine liquefaction tests?

Patient's question:

I plan to do a semen analysis tomorrow. Could you please tell me what are the common abnormalities in semen tests?

Doctor's answer:

The symptoms of abnormal semen are mainly as follows:
1. Spermiopenia and Spermatocytosis: Under normal circumstances, the number of sperm in a single male ejaculation is 20 million to 200 million per milliliter. Spermiopenia is diagnosed when the sperm count is below 20 million per milliliter, and spermatocytosis is diagnosed when the sperm count exceeds 300 million per milliliter.
2. Azoospermia: Patients who do not find sperm in three semen analyses are diagnosed with azoospermia.
3. Abnormal sperm motility.
4. Necrospermia: Low viability of sperm in the semen.
5. Hematospermia: Blood is present in the semen, and in severe cases, blood can be visibly detected in the semen.
6. Sperm: Abnormal sperm morphology.
7. Sperm agglutination: Due to the presence of sperm antibodies, sperm agglutinate.
8. Seminal hypo: The coagulation or immobilization of sperm slows or inhibits normal sperm movement.
9. Seminal hypersecretion and seminal hyposecretion: Attention should be paid to abnormal sperm. Under normal circumstances, the volume of semen in a single male ejaculation is approximately 2 to 6 milliliters. Less than 1.5 milliliters is diagnosed as seminal hyposecretion, and more than 6 milliliters is diagnosed as seminal hypersecretion. Seminal hypersecretion does not necessarily mean an increase in sperm count.
