Features: Art postcards from the late Qing Dynasty, their content reflecting the history of that time, with many aspects being little known to us. However, these art postcards have yet to enter the public eye. Postcards from the late Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China era, and art postcards have long been studied in the philatelic world, with research findings shared publicly and published in specialized books, providing stamp collectors with a comprehensive understanding of postcards. Yet, the art postcards from the late Qing Dynasty remain largely unexplored. Why? Some argue that these art postcards were printed by foreigners and hold no research value for understanding the society at the time. The author, however, holds a different perspective. The existence of these art postcards is an objective reflection of the social realities of that era, and their study is a necessity for historical research. Based on this understanding, the author has collected and studied postcards from this period. The illustrations and textual introductions in this book provide a detailed reflection of the historical conditions during the Qing Dynasty, the division and occupation of China by foreign powers, and the hardships faced by the working class at the time. The content of these postcards holds significant importance for patriotic education of today's youth, enabling them to gain a concrete understanding of the suffering of the old society and, consequently, cherish the hard-won happiness of the present day and be inspired to revitalize China.
