Features: A Continuation of the Collected Works of Poetic Criticism Throughout the Ages, compiled by Ding Fubao in modern times. It includes twenty-nine types of poetic criticism and was published by Shanghai Medical Publishing House in 1916. This book is a collection of poetic criticism anthologies compiled based on the works of He Wenhuan, a Qing Dynasty scholar.
The poetic criticism included in this book had a significant influence both at the time and later, such as the "Bi Shiguo" (Essential Records of Poetic Anecdotes) which documents historical anecdotes, the "Feng Sao Zhi Ge" (The Essence of Poetry and Art) that discusses poetic techniques and methods, the "Sai Han Tang Shi Hua" (Winter Cold Hall Poetic Criticism) that corrects the flaws of Su Shi and Huang Tingjian's overemphasis on allusions and rhyme, the "Yi Yuan Pa Yan" (The Garden of Art and Poetry) that focuses on poetic theory, the "Shi Jing Zong Lun" (General Discussion of the Mirror of Poets) that evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of poets, and the "Jiangxi Shi Pai Xiao Xu" (Preface to the Jiangxi School of Poetry) that traces the origins and styles of poetic schools. These works hold reference value for the study of Chinese literary criticism theory and literary history.
