Features: Religious studies in China in the 21st century are entering a brand-new stage of development. The academic exploration of this field is not only expanding its breadth but also demonstrating its depth. This developmental trend has allowed religious studies to truly emerge as an independent and self-contained discipline within the humanities in China. This dictionary includes thousands of Latin idioms, proverbs, sayings, colloquialisms, quotations, and terms, covering mainly the fields of law, Western philosophy, logic, ancient literature, medieval literature, Christianity, patristics, scholastic theology, and biblical studies, making it a small treasure trove of European classical wisdom. In the cultural circles of Chinese language, there are quite a few dictionaries of Chinese idioms, but very few dictionaries related to Western traditional idioms and proverbs. I hope this dictionary can fill this gap and enhance the understanding of Western traditional ways of thinking among Chinese academic circles.
