Hello: The following information is for reference:
Prostate Hyperplasia Health Care
1. Men over 50 who experience difficulty urinating, frequent urination, incomplete emptying of the bladder, or dribbling should seek medical attention promptly for a proper diagnosis.
2. Avoid long-distance cycling or horseback riding to reduce friction on the prostate. Those who sit for long periods should get up and move around for 10–15 minutes every two hours to improve blood circulation in the perineum. Engage in regular exercise, such as practicing the Eighteen Methods of Kung Fu, office exercises, or health-preserving exercises. Additionally, methods like shaking the buttocks, swaying the waist, and contracting the anal sphincter can promote metabolism and blood circulation in the lower body and perineum, enhance physical fitness, delay aging, and effectively prevent prostate hyperplasia.
3. Drinking more water increases urine output, reducing the risk of urinary tract infections and kidney stones. Daily water intake should be at least 1,000 milliliters in addition to normal dietary fluid intake. Eat more green vegetables rich in fiber to maintain regular bowel movements. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption, and limit spicy and irritating foods.
4. Avoid excessive sexual activity to prevent exacerbation of prostate congestion and swelling. However, complete abstinence is not recommended either, as prostatic fluid is a major component of semen. If abstinence occurs, prostatic fluid cannot be expelled with semen, leading to increased retention of purulent secretions. Therefore, men over 50 should engage in sexual activity 1–2 times per month.
5. For those with symptoms, apply warm towels or hot water bags to the lower abdomen and perineum, or take warm sitz baths once or twice daily, each lasting 15–20 minutes. Additionally, use the palm of your hand or fingers to massage the lower abdomen and perineum once or twice daily, each lasting 20 minutes.
