Features: With the establishment of China's socialist market economy system and the strategy of governing the country by law, China's legal system construction and the foundational legal research and education have achieved unprecedented development in recent years. As the ancient saying goes, "A workman must first sharpen his tools before he begins his work." As a law library, facing the new situation, how can we better fulfill our role in this historical process? This is a topic worthy of continuous and deep reflection. In light of this, we began planning and editing this "Research on Chinese and Foreign Legal Literature" last summer, with the intention of publishing it as an annual collection of essays. The purpose of the collection is: based on introducing and studying the successful experiences of law libraries in China and abroad, to identify the gaps in our own work and explore future directions for the development of law libraries. The ultimate goal is: to provide more convenient and efficient services for legal research, legislation, and legal education, while also offering a platform for exchange among domestic and international peers, with the aim of continuously improving the overall level of law libraries in serving legal system construction.
