Features: In China, there is a group of people who, to most of us, we are accustomed to learning about the world vaguely from television and newspapers. This habit proves that we are fortunate, as the environment we live in is peaceful. When we hastily scan distant disasters and misfortunes in the news every day, we rarely think deeply, let alone understand the state of society and the fate of other groups behind these events and stories. However, there is another group that must directly face these realities. They travel tirelessly to remote or dangerous places, year after year, engaging in lonely waits or arduous pursuits—not just to fill news time or pages, but more importantly, to become witnesses to the history we are living through.
31 moving stories, 189 authentic recorded moments. A collection of unforgettable images of China's reality, recorded by China's finest photographers. Most of these works have moved society's emotions and the consciences of all. When we face these records, our time for reflection becomes longer, our understanding of history deeper. Within them, we discover compassion and humanity, stirring our passion, pain, love, courage, and sense of justice. More reflection and realization in the present will create meaning for the future.
In the book "The Last—Unforgettable Images that Shook China," there are also countless stories of farewells. Some have already become completely history; others are in the process of becoming history. The photographers in the book use images to tell these stories of farewell, sending postcards to our descendants and the future. Behind each postcard lies the photographer's perspective and heartfelt reflections.
