Petitions by Nanjing citizens calling for support from the National Government and Nanjing Municipal Government, expressing their suffering over eight years and accusing Japanese atrocities; 2. Petitions for compensation for casualties; 3. Petitions to locate missing persons; 4. Petitions regarding industrial and commercial losses; 5. Petitions for losses of private property and assets; 6. Petitions for losses of property of religious, charitable, and philanthropic organizations. The seventh part is an appendix, which includes documents from the Kuomintang Party and government agencies regarding the handling of petitions, as well as certificates and official letters issued for the compensation of citizens' property losses. The archival materials collected in this book, except for the titles and dates which are uniformly in the Gregorian calendar, retain the original lunar calendar and dynastic years in the main text.
